As always the city of Murfreesboro is hosting numerous exciting events this May. Whether you want a fun festival to take your significant other to on a date or you are looking for a way to make an impact on your community and participate in a charity event, you can get out of the house and get involved this May.


If you live in the Murfreesboro area, then be sure to take advantage of all the city has to offer. The following are four exciting things happening this May that you are not going to want to miss.

 

Spring Pop-Up Market Day (May 4th)


On Saturday, May 4th the 3rd annual Spring Pop-up Market Day at Re-Invintage takes place. The event features amazing antique booths, local pickers and a variety of other exciting merchandise to check out. Additionally, food trucks will be on site, providing some of the most delicious food you can eat in the Murfreesboro area.


Whether you want to come solo and find a nice gift for a loved one or want to make it a family trip, bringing the kids and family dog(yes, pets are allowed), the Spring Pop-Up Market Day is the place to be the first weekend in May. The event takes place at Re-Invintage off of River Rock Boulevard and will be open 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

 

Boro BBQ Festival (May 11th)


The Boro BBQ Festival is set to take place on Saturday, May 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, and you, your family and your friends are not going to want to miss this exciting event. The festival features some of the best barbeque in the southeast, delicious craft beer and fantastic live music.


There will also be a play area for the kids, so they can come, enjoy great food and join in on the fun as well. The Boro BBQ festival is one of the biggest events of the year, playing host to more than a thousand visitors from around the southeast.

 

Blazin’ for Bleeders 5K (May 18th)


The Blazin’ for Bleeders 5K is a fun event that is for a good cause. All proceeds of the event go directly to the Tennessee Hemophilia & Bleeding Disorders Foundation(THBDF), which works to educate others and provide support to those who suffer from a bleeding disorder in the Tennessee community.


The event begins at 7:30 AM on May 18th and admission is $25 for the fun walk and $40 for the 5K run. The event is held at Gateway Island off of W. College Street in Murfreesboro.

 

Resurrection - A Journey Tribute (May 25th)


Calling all Journey lovers: Resurrection performs a tribute to Journey, playing all of their most popular songs and providing an excellent night of fun and entertainment. The event is set to take place on May 25th at Main Steet Music, which is located on West Main Street in Murfreesboro. The admission cost is $18.25 and the event starts at 7:30 PM and runs through 11:30 PM.
