Tree Lighting (December 7th)


Calling all Christmas lovers: the annual tree lighting in Murfreesboro is taking place on December 7th on the square downtown.

The tree lighting is the perfect family event, and there is going to be special Christmas music, beautiful window displays and the anticipated arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with the tree lighting which is set to take place later in the evening.

Admission for the Rutherford County tree lighting is completely free, and the event begins at 6:00 p.m. Be sure to dress warm and come ready to have a great time, enjoying the unique Christmas atmosphere of Murfreesboro, TN.

Christmas at The Movies (December 13th)


This December 13th the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra is holding their biggest concert of the year, Christmas at The Movies.

The event is set to take place at the First United Methodist Church located on W. Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. and is expect to last until 9:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from $15 to $40, depending on the seating chosen.

Anyone who loves music is sure to enjoy an evening out listening to Murfreesboro’s own symphony orchestra. Be sure to order your ticket as soon as possible before the event sells out.

Miracle on 34th Street (December 16th)


Get your tickets to Miracle on 34th Street, which takes place at the Center for The Arts in Murfreesboro on December 2nd, 9th and 16th.

Admission prices range from $11 to $15, and groups of ten or more get in for the low price of only $2 per ticket.

Miracle on 34th Street is a fantastic play that is based upon the 20th-Century Fox picture of Miracle on 34th Street. Anyone who loves Christmas and loves plays acted out by some of Murfreesboro’s finest performers is certain to have a blast at this event.

Battle of Stones River Anniversary (December 29th)


The fun activities in Murfreesboro do not end after Christmas as the 156th anniversary of the Battle of Stones River is on December 29th.

Come join a ranger and tour the area of the Battle of Stones River, which took place on December 31, 1862.

Admission is completely free and the events are set to begin at 9:00 a.m. and carry on through 3:00 p.m. Any and all history buffs, or those who simply appreciate the history of Murfreesboro, are going to love this exciting, education event.
