A new year means a new month, which means new events to get excited about and mark down on the calendar to attend.

This January in Murfreesboro there are numerous fun events to participate in, regardless if you are single or married with multiple children. The following four activities are fun events to attend when going on a casual date with a significant other or taking the family out for a fun evening.

Murfreesboro has a lot to offer, so be sure to take advantage of the amazing city by staying active in some of the community’s finest events.

 

New Year’s Day 5K (January 1st)


Start the year off right by attending the New Year’s Day 5K this Tuesday, January 1st. The event is set to take place at Old Fort Park at 11:00 AM and welcomes participants of all fitness levels.

Every finisher receives a medal, and awards are given to top finishers overall as well as the top finishers for each age bracket.

Attending the 2019 New Year’s Day 5K in Murfreesboro is a great way to honor the new year’s resolutions to stay in shape, while also being able to have a fun time with others inside the Murfreesboro community.

 

Frozen Family Fun Night (January 11th)


Frozen Family Fun Night is the perfect way to get the family out spending quality time together this Winter. Children are most certainly going to have a blast at this event, which offers singing, dancing and eating delicious snacks.

The event is set to take place just outside of Murfreesboro at the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center. Frozen Family Fun Night begins at 6:00 PM and is scheduled to last for around two hours.

The cost of admission for Frozen Family Fun Night is only $2, so be sure not to miss out this January 11th.

 

The Greatest Showman Mini Musical (January 14th)


Come out this January 14th and support the members of the FAD Performing Arts and Fitness Studio as they perform a mini-musical of The Greatest Showman.

The Greatest Showman is the perfect Musical to take your children, especially children interested in theatre.

The mini-musical series begins at 5:30 PM at the FAD Performing Arts & Fitness Studio, which is located on S. Church Street in Murfreesboro. The price of admission is $99, and it takes place over the course of six weeks, starting on January 14th and finishing on February 18th.

 

Winterfest at Fountains at Gateway (January 1st - January 21st)


January is the last chance to participate in Winterfest at Fountains at Gateway, which consists of a large skating rink and extravagant winter decorations. It is the perfect place to take your significant other on a date, or take the family out for a good time skating and appreciating the beautiful holiday lights. 

Fountains at Gateway is located at 1500 Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro. Be sure to check out the Winterfest official calendar for theme night and concert night details.
